Selection Procedure
Research Home : research.helptheaged.org.uk : Biomedical : How To Apply : Selection Procedure :

We use a 2-stage grant application process:

1. First, Expressions of Interest

2. Then, full applications

Expressions of interest are evaluated by our Research Advisory Council (RAC) on the basis of scientific merit and relevance to Research into Ageing's mission.

Where a proposal is successful at this stage, the applicant is invited to submit a full application.

Full applications are peer reviewed by a target of at least three independent referees, in accordance with Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) guidelines, before being assessed by the Reseach Advisory Council (RAC).

Full applicants for Research and Clinical Fellowships are interviewed by a panel of RAC members, including BGS representatives in the case of Clinical Fellowships.

Feedback is not normally given to unsuccessful applicants.
