Britain is an ageing society. The proportion of older people in the population is set to increase rapidly into the 21st Century. Our understanding of the ageing process, of what it means to grow old and the implications for society and the economy all depend upon successful research on ageing. It is Help the Aged's strategy to influence the national and international research agenda, to play a central role in funding research and to disseminate research findings effectively. By becoming centrally involved in research, we intend to improve our position to act as a leading authority on ageing and as a champion of older people. Details of our research strategy are found in our main strategy document (80kb). Our standards for research are rigorously maintained by a series of selection and review processes. |
